Performance: “Who are you when nobody is watching?”

17 July @ 21:30 23:00

📍 Cascia, Piazzale San Francesco 🕤 Hours 21:30 – 23:00 🎟️ Free entry

On Friday evening, the Peace Village will host the theatre production “Who are you when no one is watching?”, organised by the InMenteItaca Association, in Piazzale San Francesco: an intense and symbolic theatrical experience that invites the audience to reflect on the relationship between identity, fragility, freedom and inner peace.

🗣️ Four voices, four bodies, four life stories
The performance stems from the convergence of four stories that intertwine without ever fully overlapping. Each voice follows its own path, laying bare fears and fragility, but also acts of courage and resilience, in a constant attempt to find a balance between who one truly is and what the world demands one to be.

🎭 Masks, roles and identities
Through monologues and choral fragments, stories of identity, transformation and the search for the self emerge. The performance explores the weight of the masks we wear every day – those constructed to meet external expectations, to protect ourselves or to survive within systems that often relegate human dignity to the background.

🌊 A raft suspended between privilege and injustice
The scene unfolds in a symbolic, unstable and suspended space, like a floating raft. Upon it, profound tensions clash: privilege and injustice, power and powerlessness, freedom and oppression, those who set rules that are ‘the same for everyone’ and those who are subject to those rules.

🕊️ Between superficial peace and inner peace
This tension culminates in the clash between an apparent peace – often imposed or portrayed from the outside – and the inner turmoil of those seeking authenticity, a listening ear and self-care. The perception of reality changes depending on who is experiencing it, and the question becomes inevitable: who are we really when no one is watching?

👁️ An invitation to look into the eyes of others
“Who are you when no one is watching?” is an intimate and collective journey that invites the audience to reflect, to take a stand and to recognise themselves in the gaze of others. Because, sometimes, the answer comes precisely when we are alone, when we take off our performance masks and begin to nurture our inner peace.
