Take part in the SHU Young Makers Event!

THE FIRST STEAM COMPETITION FOR THE NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS!
Participate in the SHU Young Makers Event with your school or youth organisation and help create a sustainable and inclusive future that is also beautiful to the eyes, minds and souls!

‘SHU YOUNG MAKERS’ – Social Hackathon Umbria for Young Makers – moves in a context of cultural enhancement for young and young-at-heart from all over the world, supporting the concepts of Just and Sustainable Transition through experiences designed in a holistic and transversal perspective, aiming at strengthening a sense of common purpose, of transnational, civic and solidarity-based participation.

Who is SHU Young Makers aimed at?

  • Middle-Secondary Schools and Youth Organisations from all over Europe
  • Willing to participate in the Social Hackathon Umbria 2025 with a team of at least 5 young people aged 11-19 and one or two accompanying adults
  • Interested in involving their students in a digital/technological development workshop (robotics, coding, 3D modelling, gaming, etc.) that meets the challenges of SHU2025

What does SHU Young Makers offer?

  • Workshops on New European Bauhauas, Design Thinking and Digital Social Innovation with sector experts
  • Mentoring and workshops in the various fields of maker culture (3D printing, coding, gaming, etc.) with a view to transferring and enhancing digital skills and directing them towards co-productions and project interventions that will be carried out for the benefit of the municipality hosting the event
  • Peer-learning sessions for the presentation of projects and STEM initiatives realised at school or at the home organisation
  • Affordable board and lodging (eligible for Erasmus+ funding for schools and organisations from abroad)
