Peace Village is the main side event of the Umbria Social Hackathon!
The village will be set up within the historic town of Cascia and will offer a rich programme of workshops and performances, open to the public free of charge, focusing on the themes of Peace and Dialogue, as well as an exhibition area dedicated to promoting organic and fair trade products.
Peace Village is a space for young people and citizens where peace becomes a concrete experience: an encounter that ignites awareness, unites differences and transforms dialogue into action. Because peace is not a distant idea: it is a journey that crosses three dimensions.
Peace with oneself: learning to listen to oneself, recognising emotions and needs, communicating without hurting others. This gives us the strength to choose dialogue over confrontation.
Peace with the environment: taking care of our shared home, because there is no future without respect for the Earth and the communities that inhabit it.
Peace among peoples: building bridges, valuing rights, stories and coexistence, rejecting indifference.
This is how SDG 16 of the 2030 Agenda comes to life: peace, justice and strong institutions, starting with us.
Activities & Partners
We are looking for inspiration and best practices from all over Italy (and beyond) to create a programme that fosters continuous discussion and exchange, not only between those who exhibit/propose and those who come to learn/browse, but also with those participating in the Social Hackathon!
Workshops
Have you developed or tested a methodology that promotes peace in the workplace or in educational and cultural contexts? Present your results, tools and dynamics by organising a workshop at Peace Village!
Performances
The arts have always been a powerful means of promoting and celebrating peace. Represent your interpretation of peace with a public performance in the alleys and squares of Cascia, a Romanesque gem in the Umbria-Marche Apennines and home to the splendid Sanctuary of Saint Rita.
Open Market
Showcase your colours, aromas and flavours in the expo area dedicated to Peace with Nature. Help organise an unmissable event for those who love nature, healthy food and artisan products.
