Cultural Library – Encounters between lived cultures

An intercultural initiative created by Ars Mundi APS to promote encounters between cultures through storytelling, artistic workshops, performances, and exhibitions.
A journey through languages, identities, and shared stories, where diversity becomes a resource and art a tool for social inclusion and dialogue.

📌 Who is it for?
For people of all ages and backgrounds: curious citizens, cultural travelers, families, students, and professionals in the fields of art and inclusion.

🧰 What methods are used?
Participatory workshops, autobiographical writing, collective performances, calligraphy, art therapy, cyanotype printing, traditional dances, and rituals.
Some activities are open-access, while others are on a first-come, first-served basis.

✔ Promote social and cultural inclusion
✔ Encourage mutual understanding
✔ Challenge stereotypes through direct and creative experience

🕘 9:30–10:30 | Casa del Sole: An Open-Air School
🎭 A monologue by David Verazzani (FringeMI Festival) on Casa del Sole at Parco Trotter: an emotional journey through education, openness, and multiculturalism.

🕚 11:00–12:00 | Ecuador in the Heart
🎨 Art therapy collage workshop using authentic materials inspired by Ecuadorian identity and cultural symbols.

🕛 12:00–1:00 PM | In the Sky of the Infinite: The Art of Afghan Kites
🪁 Workshop to create traditional kites — symbols of freedom, lightness, and hope.

🕓 4:00–5:00 PM | MatrioskArt
🎨 Decorating figures inspired by Russian matryoshka dolls: a creative activity for all ages.

🕔 4:00–5:00 PM | Ancient Signs, New Voices
🖋️ Calligraphy and cyanotype from the Taiwanese tradition: a workshop where writing and light blend to create poetic images.

🕕 5:00–5:30 PM | Through the Weave – Stories of Women from Iran
👗 An interactive performance combining Persian dance, autobiographical storytelling, and textile patchwork.

🕠 5:30–6:30 PM | Taking Off the Mask… of Neurodiversity!
🎭 An experiential performance exploring empathy, diversity, and collective memory across generations.

🕢 7:30–8:30 PM | Multicultural Aperitif
🍽️ Cultural tastings, music, and conviviality to end the day with celebration.

📸 Federico Durante and Alessandra Baduel present their photography exhibition on paths of inclusion and rebirth.

🕚 11:00–12:00 AM | MatrioskArt
🎨 New creative workshop inspired by Russian tradition.

🕛 12:00–1:00 PM | In the Sky of the Infinite: The Art of Afghan Kites
🪁 Repeat session of the symbolic kite-making workshop.

🕐 1:00–1:30 PM | Notes on the Move: Venezuela Between East and West
🎶 Live music performance celebrating the Venezuelan folklore of the Llanos.

🕝 2:30–3:00 PM | Through the Weave – Stories of Women from Iran
💃 Repeat performance blending textile arts and storytelling.

🕒 3:00–4:00 PM | Costa Rica – Visions of Utopia
🎥 Video screening, cultural dialogue, and tasting of traditional products, ending with a final artistic performance.

🖼️ THE MAGIC OF AN EMBRACE – Paths of Inclusion and Rebirth
15 photographic portraits telling stories of life and transformation: people with disabilities, migrants, vulnerable women, minorities, and LGBTQIA+ communities who are building value and connection in their communities today.
🎧 Each photo is accompanied by a QR code to hear the subjects’ voices in their own words.
